Via reader recommendations, here are two possible software choices for managing all of that academic writing and information.
Scrivner: Scrivner is another attempt at making a word processor aimed at managing large projects (such as novel writing or screenplays) similar to Ulysses, but in my estimation a bit more powerful. Scrivner allows you to look at more than one document at once, while also looking at pictures or media files. This makes it very useful for storyboarding. This seems a particularly useful app for creative writers. Right now Scrivner is free as it is still in beta, but it will be a paid program ($20-$40) in a future release. Definitely worth checking out if you are still looking for the word processing program to match your style.
NoteMind: Notemind is sort of an alternative to Devon. It seems less powerful to me, but on the other hand, it is less expensive ($20) and the interface is more graphically pleasing and user friendly. It would take a lot to get me to switch away from Devon, but if you are looking for a less robust program to manage data/information this might be worth a look see.</ul>
